Who we are

We are a group of Security Researchers interested in making the internet a safer place. Our security scans help to the advance academic work and the study of the internet. We are only interested in collecting information about new services, and refreshing and aging out old information.

What Does Academy for Internet Research do?

Our organization is interested in studying the internet and contributing to various academic work. The data we collect is used towards research and other programs intended on making the Internet safer. These scans are benign in nature and are not malicious. Our scans are passive in nature, intended to collect information: We will never attempt to log in to any service, read any database or obtain authenticate access.

What does Academy For Internet Research Scan?

Currently we are scanning 1400 ports across a number of protocols refreshed bi-weekly.

Can I opt out of Academy’s Scans?

If you wish to opt out of our Security scans please send us an email at abuse@academyforinternetresearch.org or abuse@deptofinternetservices.org and we will exclude you from future scans.
